ABAQUS / Explicit's ability to effectively deal with strong nonlinear behavior, such as contact, makes it very attractive to simulate quasi-static events, such as rolled on hot metal and slowly crushing energy-absorbing objects. ABAQUS / Explicit is supported in the ABAQUS / CAE modeling environment for all common pre- and post-processing needs.

Abaqus Multiphysics enables the use of the same finite element model, the same finite element library, the same material data and the same load history. ABAQUS's structured model can easily be extended to include additional physical interaction when solving a wide range of conjugated tasks. Carrying out structural and fluid optimizations. With Tosca, optimizations can be performed in conjunction with some of the most popular FEA programs, such as; Abaqus, ANSYS, MSC Nastran, as well as the CFD codes STAR-CCM + and ANSYS Fluent.
